Culture Yard opens at Coleman Park

On Saturday, Aug. 8, our community came together to celebrate the Grand Opening of the Coleman Park Culture Yard, and neither the heat nor the intermittent showers could dampen the joy in the air. Neighbors, families, and friends filled the space for our Green Market, reclaiming and celebrating a place that belongs to them.

These photos are just a snapshot of the love, pride, and connection we felt together.

A few thank-yous are in order:

🙏 To our partners who made this moment possible — Quantum Foundation, Palm Beach Venture Philanthropy, City of West Palm Beach, Taylor Moxey Library, Eat Better Live Better, Kellie Coen Hensley Cleveland Clinic, and Knight Foundation. Your investment in Coleman Park is showing up in real, tangible ways.

🎤 To our Board Chair, Dr. Ava L. Parker and Mayor Keith James, for opening the ceremony and grounding us in why this work matters. Congresswoman Lois Frankel for always supporting Coleman Park. Shout-out to our board members Aruna Gilbert and Nathan Chau for showing up and showing OUT!!! Special shout-out to summer intern 2025 Vincent Cerasuolo 😉.

👏 To the Purpose Built Communities staff team, who traveled to show up, affirm the work, and celebrate alongside us, we felt your support.

🏆 And a very special moment: RISE proudly presented the first annual Coleman Park Champion Award to Pastor James Easley.

His unwavering love and stewardship of this community exemplify our North Star service to Coleman Park residents. Thank you, Pastor Easley, for showing us what it looks like to lead with heart.

This is what it looks like when a community reclaims its space. Thank you, Coleman Park, for showing up and showing out.

P.S. Stay tuned — the official Taylor Moxey Library celebration is coming soon! 📚
